It’s so refreshing to see small, ethical companies producing amazing products, especially in the wellness world. I was introduced to Wild Nutrition through reading about them in Psychologies Magazine, and was really interested in trying out their products.

Wild Nutrition was founded by Henrietta Norton, mother of three and certified nutritional practitioner. She’d suffered from Endometriosis during her twenties, and it was only after she begun to see a nutritional therapist that she realised the importance of natural and supplements in helping issues relating to female health. Henrietta started using high grade ingredients to develop supplements that consider the cause as well as the symptoms, and Wild Nutrition was born.

I’ve been using the Food-Grown B Complex Plus, the Multi Strain Biotic and the Hair, Skin and Nails supplements for the last 3 months. I was recommended these three products by the team at Wild Nutrition because I was suffering from dry skin and hair, frequently get bloated after I eat (probiotics help with this) and because sometimes I struggle to sleep, especially if I’ve had a really busy day (B vitamins with Ashwagandha help with stress). It was pretty great to receive advice from a nutritional therapist by email, rather than having to guess which products to buy myself.

So I’ll talk about the individual products a little bit, starting with the Multi Strain Biotic. I’ve always taken a probiotic, because as I mentioned I experience bloating after I eat certain foods - maybe my stomach is a little sensitive! This product comes in power form, and you simply mix a teaspoon into a glass of water and drink on an empty stomach before bed or first thing in the morning before eating breakfast. It uses 8 strains of beneficial bacteria necessary for normal gut function and immune balance, providing 30 billion colony forming units (CFU) per dose. Plus, all the beneficial bacteria are covered with a protective coating and freeze dried to improve their stability and absorption. I’ve definitely noticed I’ve experienced much less bloating since using this product, which can only be a good thing, especially when you have to wear lycra yoga pants for work!

Moving on to the Skin, Hair and Nails tablets - they’re not your regular hair, skin and nails supplement. These little tablets also contain a host of other minerals and herbal extracts to support your body, such as zinc for healthy skin and nails, selenium and iodine for hair, copper for normal skin pigmentation and the antioxidants manganese and vitamin E and C. Plus, and this is probably my favourite wellness find of the year: ashwagandha - for softening life’s demands, aka stress. Basically, this product aims to address imbalances in the thyroid function that can contribute to hair loss, which is a big yes from me considering my hair is on the fine side and hates any sort of stress.

Lastly, let’s talk about their B Complex Plus. These little tablets support all your energy needs and resistance to stress (a winter hero). During times of stress your body’s demand for B vitamins and minerals such as magnesium can increase, so having these to hand is a great way to defend your body against the elements, so to speak. Vitamin B6 and B12 help to ward off tiredness and fatigue, promote normal immune function and mental performance, while vitamin C and magnesium support the protection of cells from oxidative stress. CoEnzyme Q10 supports energy production and the nervous system, and again my favourite superhero ingredient* Ashwagandha, which is shown to support the nervous system, immune system and adrenals during stress and increase resistance to ‘burn out’. Phew! A real cocktail of stress-busting ingredients there.

I’ve loved following their Instagram page for tips, advice and inspiration. The team are a wealth of knowledge, so if you have any questions or just don’t have a clue which products to buy (I know, I’ve been there!), then I highly recommend popping them an email. They’re so lovely, always willing to help and very friendly - a truly refreshing wellness brand.
