This Chocolate and Raspberry Smoothie tastes as delicious as it sounds! I really love the taste of the sweet, sharp raspberries together with the chocolate and it really feels indulgent even though it’s so healthy!

Raspberries are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which is great for the skin, hair and nails protecting against free radical damage and assisting in collagen synthesis. Cacao powder is really high in antioxidants, but make sure you buy a high quality type of cacao from a health food store to ensure it’s the real deal. I love drinking this after working out as it’s super filling from the protein powder, banana and avocado and has a balance of protein, fibre and carbohydrates and healthy fats. Plus, it takes a minute to make if you have all the ingredients but the taste is so amazing, especially if you’re a chocolate lover !


Handful frozen or fresh raspberries

1 frozen banana

1 TBS cacao powder

1 glass almond milk

¼ avocado

1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder (I use Sun Warrior)

Sprinkle goji berries or cacao nibs (optional)


Blend all the ingredients in a decent blender until thick and creamy. If it’s too watery, add a little more avocado. If it’s not sweet enough, add a few more raspberries or a dollop of good quality honey. As a nice extra, sprinkle some cacao nibs or goji berries on top for an added antioxidant / vitamin C hit. Slurp and enjoy!
